First Complete Genome Sequences of Genogroup VI Porcine Sapoviruses

Sapoviruses, members of the family Caliciviridae, are genetically diverse and divided into multiple genogroups. Only a few complete genome sequences of animal strains are available. We report the first complete genome sequences of genogroup VI sapoviruses, those of strains JJ674 and JJ681, isolated from fecal samples from diarrheic pigs.

First Complete Genome Sequence of a Genogroup II Genotype 18 Porcine Norovirus, Strain QW125

Noroviruses, members of the family Caliciviridae, are genetically diverse. We report the first complete genome sequence of a genogroup II genotype 18 porcine norovirus, strain QW125. A protein BLAST search revealed that identity scores of this strain compared to other norovirus strains were highest in the predicted protease region.

Complete Genome Sequences of Two Porcine Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli Strains

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is one of the main causes of illness and death in neonatal and recently weaned pigs. Here, we sequenced the genomes of two ETEC strains that were previously used as inactivated vaccines in China.

First Complete Genome Sequences of Porcine Bocavirus Strains from East Africa

Here, we report the first complete genome sequences of two strains of porcine bocavirus (JOA_011 and JOA_015) detected in Uganda and Kenya, respectively. These data will help in understanding the molecular and evolutionary characteristics of the porcine bocaviruses in this region and the development of appropriate diagnostic and control tools.

Near-Complete Genome Sequences of Several New Norovirus Genogroup II Genotypes

We report here the near-complete genome sequences of 13 norovirus strains detected in stool samples from patients with acute gastroenteritis from Bangladesh, Ecuador, Guatemala, Peru, Nicaragua, and the United States that are classified into one existing (genotype II.22 [GII.22]), 3 novel (GII.23, GII.24 and GII.25), and 3 tentative novel (GII.NA1, GII.NA2, and GII.NA3) genotypes.
